Peekaboo
At around 8 and a half months he started inventing new games to play. In the car seat he started gripping his blanket with both hands and pulling it up to hide his face. Then he brings both arms down fast and is delighted when we act surprised.
Where’s the baby? There he is!
Where’s the baby? He’s right there!
Where’s the baby? Momma found him!
Where’s the baby? Peekaboo!
We have played peekaboo with him before, of course, but never suggested he hold the blanket himself or do it this way. He just figured it out. Invented this great game just right there in his car seat.
And now he will sometimes just decide it is time to play. In the living room, wherever. Crawls over to his blanket and whips it up over his head. We react as if he had totally disappeared, searching all over, and he snaps it down, grinning. Here I am guys!
We think he is very advanced.
