Happy Busy Day
We were up at 6:30. Played a little, ate breakfast, read books, took a morning nap. Then a quick snack and a little milk and we were off to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens for a photo safari.
The gardens are still waking up, but the daffodils are out in force. We had fun in the Children’s Garden, played in the huts of tge international village, looked through cardboard tube binoculars, dug up dinosaurs in the sand pit, beat on drums, shook a rain stick.
In the conservatory the Easter lilies were out and the whole place smelled wonderful. There were so many orchids: moth, cattelya, lady slipper. We took tons of photos before hurrying home for lunch.
Bug ate green beans, refritos and applesauce while Dada cooked veggie burgers on the grill. After we were “all done!” the whole family trooped upstairs for a long afternoon nap.
When we woke up at 5:00 we changed into swimsuits and a swim diaper for the baby and raced over to the JCC. We played in the kiddie pool until dinner time.
After dinner we played in the living room. New favorite game: the bug cruises around my chair. When he is standing behind me I say, “Where’s the baby?” and look all around. “There he is!” Squeals of laughter.
We were late going up to take a bath. By the time be was lotioned up and in jammies it was well past his bedtime. He fell asleep immediately. It was a big day. A nice busy happy day.
