All Done!
The report from daycare today: when the baby finishes eating he says “All done!”
Miss Melissa says it first. “All done?” and he replies, “All done!”
She has been working with him on this and wasn’t sure if she heard him say it yesterday, but her mother came over and confirmed. He is saying a phrase. All done!
At home we had been saying, “Finished.” Not any more. At dinner I stuffed him full of green beans, potatos, applesauce. Then I whisked away his tray and trilled, “All done!” and he replied “All done!” Then we ran into Dada’s office and said it again for him.
I can’t believe he is saying a phrase. He is not even eight months. After bath we laid in bed and snuggled. And I whispered a new phrase to him, over and over, “I love you, momma.”
“All done” is just the beginning.
