Kissy Face
One of our favorite games is “kiss the baby.” Momma kisses him, Dada kisses him, and best of all, Baby-in-the-mirror kisses him with a big open slobbermouth kiss.
That mirror baby is in the bathroom medicine cabinets, the shiny microwave door, in soft books and toys. There are even tiny still-picture babies to kiss inside the iPhone. But the best life-size version is the shiny kitchen trashcan. It stays very attractive because momma polishes it to a mirror finish with Lysol wipes all the time. And Lex is overjoyed and kisses it with abandon. Considering getting a different can for trash and making this one a squeaky-clean receptacle for baby gear. A unique toybox.
With all this smootching going on, I always want in on the love. “Kiss the Momma” I plead. A couple of times he has swooped in for a slobber peck while I was cajoling, mostly he ignores me and kisses what he wants. This morning we were playing in bed and he surprised me. Pulled himself level with my face and planted a big wet one right on my nose. His first spontaneous kiss for me. Hope there will be many more to come.
