Happiness
I’ve been thinking about happiness today. It is important to be happy. There are easy days and hard days, things to be late for, lists that don’t get done. But you carry your own happiness through it all.
Today the bug had his bath, got jammied up and went for a ride in the laundry basket. His daddy pulled him around in it like a sleigh, then turned it in a circle for a bit. Buglet loved it. He laughed and was dizzy. His eyes kept moving back and forth even after he stopped. He tried to stand up. He has never been dizzy before and it amazed him.
And in a few years, when he can spin on his own and has made himself falling-down dizzy five hundred times both with and without me, I hope he loves it just as much as today.
And I hope I appreciate the five-hundredth time as much as the first. And watch him as closely and love him as intensely when all the things that are new now become familiar.
And be happy. Every single day.
