Princess Crankypants

We think he's very advanced.

Boxing Day

Another milestone. Baby is 150 days old. He has definite likes and dislikes now, and laughs or makes raspberries to let us know how he feels.

Likes: Daddy doing a monkey dance; presents, especially the wrapping paper; eating peas; toys that play music, including his 4-note piano; booby noms; being carried in the moby; other kids; the exersaucer; people smiling back at him; Momma saying “Christmas!” in a silly voice.

Things he would like, but can’t have and doesn’t like NOT getting: Momma’s coffee; the kitteh; the remote controls; our iPhones; Daddy’s whiskey.

Dislikes: people not paying attention to him; getting boogers suctioned out; painful gas; dirty diapers; taking medicine; falling asleep when there’s a party going on, being in the carseat; tight shirts going over his head; tummy time (before he could roll over and escape it.)

After the present extravaganza yesterday he was pretty overwhelmed with new toys, but more packages came today and he was just as excited to open these. He really loves the wrapping paper, but doesn’t appreciate the hook-and-sweep to extract a wad of paper from inside his cheek. Baby’s first choking hazard. Later we were sitting near the potted ficas and he was craning his neck like a giraffe to have a munch on the leaves. Finally he grabbed one and pulled it off the tree and was trying to stuff it in his mouth before I could wrestle it away. We consider this proof positive that he is very advanced.
