We think he's very advanced.

Jump Around

Our boy has been in the Johnny Jump-Up before, but not since he crossed the threshold from advanced infant to interactive baby. We put him in it again tonight, in the doorway between our room (where we all co-sleep in the family bed) and the nursery (where the kitteh keeps an eye on the empty crib.)

He loved it. We took off his socks, and he gripped the floor with his toes. He turned around and looked back at us over his shoulder, pivoted on one foot and swung back around. He was thrilled. With his knees locked he stood straight up, leaned, took little steps. With jelly knees he bounced and danced and laughed. We applauded and did baby sign language for “More.”

Now we have one more developmental activity to do with him. While I get ready for work his dad gets him changed and dressed and encourages him in the play gym or exersaucer, or practices talking or walking. Generally it results in him doing terrifically cute things that I have to come watch, and so my plan to get out of the house on time is usually foiled, but it is worth it to see him babble or toddle, or jump around and laugh.
