Vocabulary
In the car we review his vocabulary words.
First he points to all the parts of his body as I say eah one: hand, foot, head, eye, nose, mouth, ear, teeth, tongue, belly. We are adding arms and legs, fingers and toes.
Then we review animal sounds. I say the name, he makes the noise: pig, chicken, cow, sheep, goat, horse, rhino, lion, rabbit, duck, owl, monkey, dog, mouse. For bear, bird, cat and elephant he makes the sign in conjunction with the sound. We have been working on the signs for giraffe and bug and the sounds for frog and rooster.
Then airplane sign and sound, and we cover sounds for car (brrrrrm!) and firetruck (wooowooo!) and the other signs he knows: eat, drink, milk, juice, bed, bath, light, hat, more, all done and he both signs and says Dadda.
And then he repeats other words he can say: Momma, Nana, Jaja, ball, balloon, bubbles. He is close to saying “juice” and has just started repeating “hi.”
He also recognizes the word “sneeze” and says “achoo!” and then I say “gadzoonteit!” and he laughs.
And then I just say some words that he has shown he knows by his actions: truck, slide, swing, outdoors, sandbox, bucket, book, school, shoes, tree, leaves, sit, potty, tub, brush, road, toy.
And by that time we are at daycare. I hope they challenge him enough. We think he is very advanced.
