Transitions
My baby boy is growing up. Crib to toddler bed. So excited he can get in and out by himself. Moving up a classroom. Goodbye Ms Brenda & Ms Tasha, hello Ms Kay and Ms Jeanette. How big is Lexi? So big!
He loves the beach, goes in the water, has stopped eating sand. Wears his hat and sunglasses. Uses the signs for dadda, light, eat, bath, kitty, milk and bed. Points to his head, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, tongue, hand, foot and bellybutton. Is really excited to see fish and birds. Pushes cars along the floor and says “brrrrrrrrm brrrrrrm.” Climbs stairs, up and down.
We have introduced potty training, in a low key way. He likes to sit on his potty chair and run around with his diaper off.
We talk alot about what we did today, what we will do tomorrow, what we are doing next. We talk about weather and colors. He claps his hands to music and dances in a circle. He likes to run away and have us chase him. He likes to draw with chalk.
In his new classroom he will make art projects, eat with a spoon (he already does at home), go outside more. He has graduated from a high chair to a toddler-sized table and tiny chair. This is a transition class, Infant 3, to get him ready to move to Toddlers 1 in a few months. Infant to toddler. Momma needs time to adjust to this transition too.
