“A Year of Lex” FAQ

Answers:

The diapers are rad. The white cloth diapers in the beginning are from a local diaper service in Charlottesville called The Stork. When he started daycare he had to wear disposables (for licensing reasons they can’t use cloth.) We stopped the service and bought all-in-one colorful cloth diapers from BumGenius. We launder them twice in our high-efficiency washer, first cold, then hot. Highly recommended.

The music is wonderful. The song is “We’re Going to Be Friends” by The White Stripes. I especially love the line about “Look at all the bugs we found.” The cadence is just right to get through a year of pictures in two minutes and thirty six seconds.

Look for the special days. There are other special day photos that were not taken in his crib. You can see him in a Santa hat, with Cupid wings, a leprechaun hat, and bunny ears on Flickr. For Mother’s Day I wanted to put a temporary tattoo of “Mom” in a big heart on his chest. We had to improvise. We took them all ourselves, at home.

Lex is cute. He really is an adorable baby. He has a sweet personality. He loves to dance and eat blueberries. He is gentle with the kitty. His parents are crazy about him. He is happy and well-loved by friends and family, near and far.

And now he is Internet-famous too. You can find his video on YouTube, see more pictures on Flickr, follow him on Twitter, or RSS his Tumblog. He is a very connected little guy.
