Montessori
At CMoR on Friday I met a mother who is speaking only Polish to her 20-month old twins. She is also considering Montessori schools. Most start at age 3, for kids who are potty-trained. She also mentioned a language-immersion summer program in town. We both would like our toddlers to learn Mandarin Chinese.
Had lunch with a Sail Caribbean friend today. He went to Tuckahoe Montessori (http://www.tuckahoemontessori.org) when it first opened 30 years ago. It looks like a wonderful program but is only half-days for two or three days a week until age 2-1/2 and then half-days five days a week. Central Montessori in Church Hill starts full days at 18 months. The women I spoke with at both schools recommended reading “How to Raise an Amazing Child the Montessori Way” by Tim Seldin. So far it sounds like it might be a good fit for Lex.
