Princess Crankypants

We think he's very advanced.

Surrey with the Fringe on Top

Sunrise walk on the beach, shower, breakfast, jitney bus downtown. Exploring, blistering walk, fighting with the baby to leave his sunhat on, stopping for ice cream. Think the baby is still too young for chocolate, but give him a taste of my cone anyway.

Find a changing table in Starbucks, his outfit is a chocolately mess. New onesie, walk along the cruise ship docks, haggle for a surrey ride.

Baby is fascinated with the horse. We get pictures, video. Our tour guide calls out to every attractive lady we pass, chats with other surrey drivers, tells us about his mango tree and repeats the same half dozen facts about the islands’ history several times. We don’t mind. We are in the shade, the breeze is great, the baby is enraptured by the horse and waving at passers-by.

Window-shopping, bank, back to the bus stop for number 10 west of town. We hop off at the Fish Fry for lunch. A collection of restaurants all specializing in conch. We think the baby is too young for mollusk but let him have a conch fritter anyway. He wolfs it down, along with some grouper and French fries. He still doesn’t care for macaroni and cheese.

At the bus stop some cruise ship passengers give us spare tickets for Ardastra Gardens. Back to the hotel for naptime, set up the underwater camera for our dive tomorrow morning. Maybe we will walk to Traveler’s Rest for dinner tonight.

Baby has already charmed most of the residents and guests in the Bahamas and it is only day three.
