Celebration
I had a great birthday, with lots of well wishes at work, singing phonecalls and messages, cards, cake, presents and a special flower delivery of a live gardenia plant already in bloom.
The boy skipped his afternoon nap and slept from 7-9 pm and then decided to say up til 11. We let him join the party and he was cheerful and fun. Everyone loved the Cuatro Leches cake topped with fresh whipped cream and garnished with 35 blueberries. It took me a long time to blow out all the candles. Bug helped.
We rolled into birthday weekend with a walk to Stir Crazy for a breve latte and breakfast burrito. The baby snacked in his stroller on the way over and left a trail of happy squirrels celebrating the cheerios, goldfish and crunchies left in our wake.
We stopped at yardsales, then went home, visited with Auntie Maura and I mowed the lawn before afternoon nap. Afterwards I weeded the garden while Zac made his special pizzas. From scratch with OO caputo flour, fresh mozzerella and San Marzano tomatoes for the sauce. They were delicious. The baby had already eaten but he teethed on the crust.
We had a happy busy day.
