At work. 9:57 a.m. Phonecall from “Lex at daycare.” Adrenaline. “The teacher doesn’t know what happened… Cut on his eye… You’ll need to pick him up… Needs a stitch.” I am 20 minutes away, make it there in 12. Son of Fishgirl
We started swim lessons at the JCC. The class is for kids from 12-24 months. There are 9 kids total. Bigger kids and smaller kids. Girls and boys. With their dads, with their moms. Kids who are brave about getting their head wet and kids who cry. All kinds of kids, but I am pretty sure Lex is the best one. Swim coach Kelly leads us in a circle. We introduce our kids, ourselves. Vocabulary
In the car we review his vocabulary words. First he points to all the parts of his body as I say eah one: hand, foot, head, eye, nose, mouth, ear, teeth, tongue, belly. We are adding arms and legs, fingers and toes. Then we review animal sounds.
